Russia and China have simplified international road transportation via Kazakhstan, reports RIA Novosti with reference to Xinhua news agency.
According to Yleham Abulet, director of Xinjaing Uygur Autonomous regional road transportation administration bureau, before, goods transported from Xinjiang (northwest China) to Russia had to pass through Kazakhstan (as there are no other crossing on the China-Russia border) and were due to be unloaded there for customs checks. Therefore, Chinese goods were delayed for almost one week.
Now, with the permit cargo trucks only need to be registered when transit via Kazakhstan and it takes less than two days, Xinhuanet cites the words of Tursungul, general manager of Xinjiang Xinde International Transportation Co., Ltd.
This facilitation will play an important role in the development of bilateral trade between the two countries, the agency said.
