The International Travel Fair 2016, also known as Bit (Borsa Internazionale del Turismo), will held from 11 to 13 February in Milan in the exhibition center Rho Fair. It is by far the most important player in the Exhibition Industry in Italy and one of the biggest in the world. Bit takes place every year since 1980.
Last year, Bit have seen more than 1.500 international and Italian Hosted Buyers, more than 2.000 participating companies and over 60 thousand professional visitors. Among the participants the exhibition is an international meeting point for decision makers, professionals, buyers, sharply outlined and selected, coming from different areas and industry fields.
Bit 2015 has seen significant changes, in particular, a new substantive space for OLTAs, and new area dedicated to Food & Wine. This year, for the first time through Bit.China there will be a room dedicated to a debate on new opportunities for emerging markets. Leisure World, Mice, Luxury and Destination sport – are the four segment divisions within the fair.
Many Italian regions will participate on the exhibition, including Tuscany, which invests in promotion of all segments, Lombardy, which has expanded its presence, as well as Calabria, Emilia Romagna, Sardinia, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Liguria, Marche and Umbria, Puglia and Basilicata. Among newcomers are Cortina and San Marino.
Among European participants, there will be present governmental and private organizations from Spain, France, the UK, Bulgaria, Greece, Croatia, Romania, Cyprus and Poland, as well as Turkey. From emerging markets there will be present Iran and Azerbaijan, Senegal, Mexico, and Argentina.
For Russia, BIT will be one of the first events after the reciprocal years of tourism of Russia and Italy in 2013 and 2014 respectively.
