Belarusian authorities will offer state-owned stakes in 60 companies for privatization via auction in 2016, the State Property Committee (SPC) reports on its website.

In total there are 56 state-owned shares and 4 unitary enterprises for sale.

For privatization are shares in such major state companies as  BATE, a producer of starters and alternators for engines; the Spartak Paper Mill JSC factory based in the eastern Mogilev region; Holding Management Company Horizont JSC, a producer of household appliances; Promsvyaz JSC, a Minsk-based producer of radio, television and networks equipment; and timber processing enterprises (Ivatsevichdrev, Vitebskdrev, Mogilevdrev, FanDOK).

Belarus for years has avoided privatizing its major companies, reports Intellinews. The only exception was its sale of gas pipeline system to Gazprom in 2007-2011.
