Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed the law limiting the amount of rebates (retro-bonuses) for retail chains and the time limits of payment for supplied goods, reads the relevant document published on the official website of legal information which amends the la ‘on the basis of state regulation of commercial activities in the Russian Federation’ adopted in 2010. It was approved by the Federal Council on June 29, 2016.

The document provides for the limit the total amount of bonus paid by the supplier by 5% (before it was capped by 10%). The rebate calculation comprises marketing and logistical services, as well as services of goods preparation for sale.

The document also imposes new time limits for the payment of supplied products. According to it food products with a shelf life bellow 10 days shell be paid within 8 days from the delivery date. Products with a shelf life from 10 to 30 days shell be paid within 25 days, and those with a shelf life over 30 days including domestic alcoholic alcohol beverages to be paid within 40 days.
