Russian automobile manufacturer AvtoVAZ plans to expand export of vehicles to Central Asia via Kazakhstan, reports Interfax with reference to the company’s CEO Nicholas Maure.
“To begin with, we have to consolidate our position on the Kazak market, then to use it as an export platform to the countries of the Central Asia, naming Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and even Georgia,” Mr Maure said at a press conference in Togliatti.
AvtoVaz is currently building an ‘Azia Avto Kazakhstan’ automotive cluster in Kazakh city of Ust-Kamenogorsk, a Russian-Kazakh joint venture. It will become the largest production site of Lada cars outside Russia.
