Despite the disputes with the European “regulator” and the perplexities of the trade associations in many EU countries

Bayer intends to reach the “closing” for the acquisition of Monsanto by June 2018. “Our goal is to be able to close the operation in the second quarter of 2018”, says the CEO of the German pharmaceutical chemical giant, Werner Baumann. The objective was reaffirmed during the presentation of the balance sheet data. But Bayer also awaits the “positive conclusion” of the European regulator’s examination.

Meanwhile, Bayer stores 2017 with profits up 61.9% to € 7.3 billion. The turnover rises by 1.5% to 35.01 billion. Ebitda stood at € 9.2 billion and ebit grew by 2.9% to € 5.9 billion. This was another record year for the pharmaceutical industry with an increase in revenues of 4.3%.
