Specialized courses and certification marks for those who choose “bio”
Becoming a biodynamic farmer: a new cycle of training courses for the Association for Biodynamic Agriculture arrives, from 15 March at the Azienda Agricola Cascine Orsine in Pavia and at the biodynamic company La Collina in Reggio Emilia. Courses ‘from farmer to farmer’, where the most expert help the new biodynamics to produce naturally high quality food. The companies that want the certification mark must guarantee the knowledge on the methods of cultivation and on the respect of the rules, and the biodynamic Association has the task to prepare and verify all this. The goal is to create guarantees of seriousness for all companies that enter the system. Organic farming is a rapidly growing sector which, in 2017, is worth € 5.3 billion (+ 9% compared to 2016) with an export of almost € 2 billion, and that in the midst of the economic crisis, from 2008 to today it has grown 218%, while the land cultivated with ‘bio’ reaches almost 15% of the Italian agricultural area. Sector that grows not only in the specialized, but in all the channels of modern distribution with the brands of the GDO that invest and insert branded bio products in their range.
