The 27 EU countries “are not yet ready enough” to face all the possible scenarios in which Brexit will be realized. This was stated by a spokesman for the European Commission, pointing out that “we must be ready for any eventuality”, and therefore also that of a failed agreement. Yesterday in Brussels the first meeting between the negotiator, Ue Michel Barnier and the new British negotiator Dominic Raab took place.

The EU Commission comments, in an official statement, that “Europe is working hard on an agreement, but there is no certainty that it will be achieved, and even if it were, the United Kingdom will no longer be a Member State”. We need to prepare “for all contingencies to ensure that EU institutions, Member States and private individuals are in any case ready”.
