Demand for tours to Crimea shows 200% growth

The demand for holidays in Crimea is growing. According to the spokesperson of Russian Union of Travel Industry (RST) Irina Tiurina, preliminary data shows 200% growth in advance booking holidays in Crimea compared to the previous year. Demand for recreation in Sochi and Krasnodar region increased by 100%.

There have been already sold 30 percent of hotels in the resort areas of the region despite the fact that reservations require a deposit of 50 percent.

At year-end tour operators expect growth of sales of tours to Russia to increase by some 15-20%. Last year the figure stood at 10-15%.

In early January, the Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev said that the tour operators developing domestic routes and new types of tourism, will receive state support.
