Ablv Bank, the Latvian bank accused by the US authorities of financial ties with the North Korean regime, has called for up to 480 million euros of emergency liquidity assistance (ELA) from the central bank of Latvia, said the Ablv spokesperson Arturs Eglitis. In order to activate the ELA mechanism, a permission from the ECB is necessary.
