here are 350 companies controlled by the State whose top management (at the natural end of the mandate) must be renewed. Among these we find real giants such as Eni, Enel, Terna, Poste Italiane, Leonardo. For Eni the process has already started: the shareholders will meet next April 13 to elect the new board. Then it will be the turn of Enel’s shareholders (4 May), those of Leonardo and those of Terna. Moving the ranks will be the Treasury Ministry, which in the coming weeks will have to deliver the list of its candidates to the guidance of subsidiaries. At stake are the boards of five groups which alone are worth 121 billion market capitalization. 48 appointments, including those of chief executive officer and chairman. But the possible changes at the top not only affect large groups. The boards of direct subsidiaries to be renewed also include those of Enav, Consap (the concession holder of public insurance services), Sogesid (environmental reclamation companies) and Ram (Mediterranean Motorways Network). Then there are the indirect subsidiaries, a vast and varied universe that still has a determining role for the country’s economy. Just think of the Ferrovie dello Stato: 18 companies to be renewed. Among these stand out Rfi, Ferservizi, Fs Sistemi Urbani and Ferrovia del Brennero Tunnel. Among the companies of the Eni group the board of directors of Agi, Eni Mediterranea, Eni International Bv, Ieoc Spa, Eni Gas and Luce must be renewed.
