“We think the whole world is in crisis, but we, Europeans, have to keep in mind that we are the only ones who do not grow. Europe needs a true unity because with all the integration we came through, with common currency and EU-28, we have whether to stick with it and go further, or it will turn to be our bomb suit,” CEO of Leonardo-Finmeccanica Mauro Moretti said at the Fifth Eurasian Economic Forum in Verona on Friday.

“A common currency without political shock absorbers create inequalities between those states who entered it with a strong position and those who did not and who continue a neverending paying outs of debts and interests and no longer grow”, Mr Moretti added.

Speaking about Russia and Renzi’s statement over new restrictive measures against Russia, Mr Moretti pointed that “we need to make clear and lastlong partnerships as long as we can create new technologies and boost development; there is a huge space between Russia and Italy we can fill up with real value chains, therefore, the decision-making centers of the two countries have to coordinate better and faster”.
