Italian luxury brand Furla has celebrated 15 years in Russia with a total number of 12 single-brand stores in both Moscow and St. Petersburg.

To mark the anniversary, Furla organized a gala dinner – Furla loves Moscow – at the Historical Museum in the Red Square, where it showcased some of it latest collections. “This [Russia] is a very important market for us,” said Furla President Giovanna Furlanetto, adding that he was back to Moscow after a long time and was fascinated by the energy of this metropolis. Creative Director Fabio Fusi, Italian ambassador to Moscow Cesare Maria Ragaglini, Italian Consul General Piergabriele Papadia de Bottini, just to name few of those who took part in the dinner last week.

Founded in 1927 in Bologna by the Furlanetto family, Furla is a renowned maker of leather goods. The company is present in 100 countries with more than 450 single-brand shops, including 12 in Russia, and a large distribution network.

Most recent openings in Russia were in the major malls of Moscow and St. Petersburg: the Gum and Galeria. Apart from having physical stores, Furla also launched an online sales channel for its Russian customers. In July, Furla opened its online boutique on Russian language following other western companies such as Vans, H&M and L’Oréal Group.

In the first six mounts of the year, Furla has recorded 31% sales growth in Russia. Next year, the company plans several retail store openings.
