Gazprom increases its gas exports via Nord Stream

In the first 7 months of the year, it increased its gas export to non-CIS countries by 10.7%

Russian gas giant Gazprom has increased its gas exports to non-CIS countries in January-July 2016 by 10.7% or 9.5 billion cubic meters compared to the same period last year, reports Reuters with reference to the company’s preliminary data.

The leader in growth in absolute terms is United Kingdom. In January-July of this year, the deliveries increased by 4.1 billion cubic meters or by 62.7%, Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller said on Monday.

He also said that the countries that receive gas through Nord Stream showed a considerable growth. In particular, export to Denmark increased by 140.1%, to the Netherlands – by 96.6 %, to France – by 27.3%, to the Czech Republic – by 16.5 %.

“The capacity of the Nord Stream increased by some 20% compared to the previous year. 14.1% growth of export volume to Austria should also be noted, as well as 12.5% to Greece. In January-July, gas transit via land routes abroad increased by some 12.5%,” Mr Miller said.
