Made in Italy agro-food is a great resource for the country: € 61 billion worth of added value, 1.4 million jobs, over 1 million businesses and € 41 billion in exports. These are the figures that emerge from the Italian Agri-Food Competitiveness Report presented today by ISMEA in the presence of the Minister of Agricultural, Food, Forestry and Tourism Policies Gian Marco Centinaio. If the Italian food industry has strengthened in the national economy, at the European level it still shows signs of weakness. The comparison with countries such as France, Germany and Spain reveals an unfavorable gap still high in terms of company structures, efficiency, technology and productivity.  The Minister of Agriculture, commenting on the report, noted: “Our agriculture is the most multifunctional in Europe. Then we make agri-tourism enterprises more competitive, we strengthen exports, we guarantee a safe and balanced supply chain to offer even new jobs to the youngest, we protect the income of our companies: Ismea’s data tell us this “.
