In 2017, VDNKh, a permanent general purpose trade show and amusement park in Moscow also called the All-Russia Exhibition Centre, is expected to host Denkmal exhibition for restoration of historical monuments, which is the industry’s leading trade fair in Europe.
A protocol of intentions was signed by VDNKh’s Director General Yekaterina Pronicheva and the Head of Leipziger Messe GmbH Markus Geisenberger in the German city of Leipzig, where Denkmal 2016 is undergo from Nov. 10 to 12, 2016.
Since its premiere in 1994, Denkmal, European Trade Fair for Conservation Restoration and Old Building Renovation, has been held in Leipzig every two years. This year, this large-scale international forum focuses on renovation of historical architecture and park ensembles.
Every two years Russia contributes to the historic preservation sector’s leading European trade fair with an elaborately designed stand that follows a specific theme. This year, it is presenting three shared stands – for the Russian Federation, St. Petersburg, and Moscow. In particular, Moscow’s municipal government will present WDNCh trade fair area.
WDNCh, All-Union Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy, is a historical trade fair area in Moscow and a prime example of Soviet architecture built back in 1939. At the moment, the area of the fair is being restored in detail by the city of Moscow.
