The Russian customs service (FTS) has reported on the drop in the amount of goods entering the country from non-CIS countries.

In January-June 2016 imports from non-CIS countries decreased by 7.7% compared to the same period last year and amounted to USD70.657bln.

However, in June 2016, Russia saw USD13.418 bln worth goods imported from non-CIS countries that is a growth of 11.1% compared to May 2016.

“According to preliminary customs statistics, in January-June 2016 imports from non-CIS countries amounted to USD70.657 bln that is a drop of 7.7% compared to the same period last year,” reads the FTS statement.

Earlier, the FTS preliminary statistics for January-March 2016 stated that imports from non-CIS countries were dropped by 14.2 % reaching USD32.254 bln.
