The main institutes of the Russian economy record a turnaround in the industrial production of the Federation, whose growth went from 2.9% in January to 1.5% in February. Stagnation? The Institute of Economic Forecasting (INP) of the Russian Academy of Sciences confirms the positive trend of large industrial groups of raw materials while the production of intermediate goods “actually stagnates”. Surprisingly, the jump in the car market in Russia in February 2018 was recorded: + 24.7%. The top ten best-selling models so far are all locally produced. In February 2018, sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles increased by 26,393 units. Joerg Schreiber, chairman of the Automobile Manufacturers Committee, commented: “Sales on the Russian automotive market continue to be healthy in February, confirming the positive and uninterrupted trend of the last 12 months. The market outlook remains positive, but “it is reasonable to expect the pace of growth to slow down”.
