Confturism: foreigners in constant growth push the sector    

Tourists from abroad are constantly growing in our country: 60 million in 2017, up 5.2% compared to 2016. In the last ten years Italian tourism has been able to rely almost exclusively on the good performance of foreign demand: international arrivals are from 43 to 60 million (+ 39.3%), while attendance from 163 to 212 million (+ 29.7%).

Domestic tourism registered a positive trend for arrivals (+ 16.7%) while the number of visitors remained at the levels of 10 years ago, causing a significant contraction in the average stay that even fell below that relating to foreign tourism. (3.4 against 3.5 days). Overall, in the last decade the tourism sector has grown by about 3 and a half billion euros, recording the highest percentage increase (+ 6.8%) while the Italian economy has lost 73 billion.
