Italy’s Pavilion to gather business community at SPIEF

On June 16, XX St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) is opening its gates for numerous participants of one of the most important economic events in Russia. For the first time in the history of the Forum the state-partner opens its personal pavilion in the framework of the event – Italy in Russia. The pavilion of 1,5 thousand m2 will become a business platform where 22 largest Italian companies will be presented. Today, Italian Embassy in Moscow has published the official programme of the events which are taking place in the Pavilion during the three days of the Forum.

At the first day of the SPIEF, the Pavilion Italy in Russia will hold an opening ceremony which will see a participation of Russian federal ministers, governors and businessmen. Then, the afternoon agenda envisages a conclusion of several partnership agreements between Russian and Italian companies which will be followed by wine tasting organized by one of the largest European wine expositions Vinitaly.

On the following day, Friday, June 17, the Pavilion will host a business seminar entitled “Investments and joint ventures: what is the current scenario?” (10 a.m. Moscow time) which will be attended by Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi. Among the participants of the event are: the head of the Association Conoscere Eurasia Antonio Fallico, CEO Rostec Sergey Chemezov; CEO of Pirelli Marco Tronchetti Provera; the head of EuroChem Andrey Melnichenko; president of Enel Patrizia Grieco; president of the RussianUnion of industrialists and Entrepreneurs Alexander Shokhin; CEO of Barilla Guido Barilla; CEO and president of Cremonini Inalca-Federalimentare Luigi Scordamaglia. The second session of the business event entitled as “The prospects of economic cooperation between Italy and Russia” will take place at 10.40 a.m. (Moscow time) and will see a participation of: President Emeritus of Intesa Sanpaolo Giovanni Bazoli; President and CEO of Rosneft Igor Sechin; CEO of Leonardo – Finmeccanica Mauro Moretti; CEO of Novatek Leonid Mikhelson; CEO of ENI Claudio Descalzi; chairman of the board of directors Renova Group Viktor Vekselberg; chairman of the board of directors of UC RUSAL Oleg Deripaska; Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Arkady Dvorkovich and Minister of Economic Development of Italy Carlo Calenda. After the traditional plenary session of the SPIEF (Congress Hall, 2 p.m.) which will see the participation of the Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister of Italy Matteo Renzi, the two heads of states will attend the Pavilion Italy in Russia which is scheduled at 5 p.m. Then, at 8 p.m., a special event organized by Russian newspaper Kommersant will take place at Belmond Grand Hotel Europe.
A closing day of the Pavilion will take place at the last day of the SPIEF – 17 June. In this day, another wine tasting will be offered to the guests of the Italian business platform.

Among the 22 companies that will be presented at the Italy’s Pavilion are: Leonardo-Finmeccanica, Intesa Sanpaolo and Banca Intesa Russia, Pirelli Tyre Russia, Maire Tecnimont and Barilla.(A.H.)
