Krasnodar Territory is getting ready for the upcoming Sochi International Investment Forum to be held Feb. 2017. Local authorities are expected to present dozens of investment projects worth at least 50 million rubles each, said the Krasnodar Territory governor’s press service.

The annual forum was first held in the city of Sochi in 2002 and is typically attended by some 9 thousand participants from Russia and over 30 other countries, as well as by delegates from 400 fact books. Earlier, the date of the next forum was changed by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and is now heduled for Feb. 27-28, 2017. Traditional the event takes place in autumn.

The Chairman of the Forum this year is Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak. The Krasnodar Territory will be represented by the Governor Veniamin Kondratyev.

“We need to attract as much attention and as many investors to the forum as possible. We must also keep up the high standards of the 2016 forum,”Mr Kondratyev said as quoted by the press service.

During the 2016 forum, the Krasnodar Territory authorities and various companies signed about 250 agreements worth over 760 billion rubles.

The region’s branch agencies have submitted proposals for investment projects to the regional government’s Investment Department. Every city in the Krasnodar Territory will prepare at least 10 investment projects.
