Russian positive trade balance decreased by half from US $16,9 billion in January 2015 to US $8,5 billion in January 2016, reports the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation.

In January-February 2016, Russian imports decreased by 17.1% compared to the same period of 2015 and amounted to US $19,109.

According to the Federal Customs Service, in February 2016, imports from non-CIS countries fell by 16.8%. In particular, there were particular drop in supply of engineering products (-22.8%), chemical products (-14.5%), textile products and footwear (-12.2%), and food products (-1.6%).
