Moscow puts a spotlight on Eurasian integration

Moscow welcomes the III Eurasian Economic Congress
III Eurasian Economic Congress has opened today, Dec. 6, in Russian capital city of Moscow to put a spotlight not only on international agenda, but also on the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) Customs Code, common pharmaceutical market, as well as issues of the regional integration and Eurasian security.
Opening the congress at the site of the press center MIA Russia Today on Tuesday, the Director of the Eurasian center Alexei Pilko has highlighted that 2016 was both a difficult and successful year for the Eurasian integration project.
“History shows that mutually beneficial economic cooperation is possible even between politically different agents. For example, the Big Eurasia project means flexible and open cooperation with all those who is willing to participate in the formation of the new Eurasian economy,” Mr Pilko said. Therefore – he added – today’s session will also focus on the cooperation between the two major integration blocs, naming the EU and the EEU.
The list of speakers of the Congress numerous sessions includes the Minister in charge of the Development of Integration and Macroeconomics Tatyana Valovaya, Minister for customs cooperation of the EEC Mukai Kadyrkulov, Department of customs legislation and law enforcement practice of the ECE Elena Briceva, Minister in charge of Technical Regulations of the EEC Valery Koreshkov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation Igor Petrishenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Russian Federation Oleg Yesayan, Deputy Head of Federal Customs Service of Russia Tatyana Golendeeva, CEO of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives Andrey Nikitin, President of the Association Conoscere Eurasia Antonio Fallico, President of Alstom Russia, a member of the Board of the Association of European businesses (AEB) Philip Pegorier, president of the Confindustria Russia Ernesto Ferlenghi and others.
