Moscow authorities are working on construction projects for over 40 industrial zones, reports Mosstroykompleks (a committee for the construction policy of the city of Moscow) on its web site.
“Since the beginning of the year there has been already approved 6 projects for reorganization of industrial units; while some 40 documents are under development”, the statement reads.
According to Deputy Mayor for urban policy and construction Marat Khusnullin, since the introduction of the city’s programme for the reorganization of industrial areas, there were approved some 53 project plans for these areas, 15 of which are currently under construction.
In 2016, it is planned to construct over 2.3 million square meters of real estate on the territory of reorganized industrial areas. Since the beginning of the year there were already constructed some 800 thousand square meters of real estate there.
According to Mr Khusnullin the areas will be also provided with all necessary social and transport infrastructure.
Total ‘abandoned’ industrial sites of Moscow occupy some 18.8 hectares, which is more than 17% of the city.
