Members of the Eurasian Economic Union are willing to strengthen cooperation in the field of agricultural engineering, reports BelTA.

The EEC (Eurasian Economic Commission) advisory committee has approved a package of proposals aiming at increasing cooperation in industrial production of machines and equipment for agriculture in the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).

The document will contribute in the politics of so called “import substitution” in the sector of agricultural machinery in order to increase export of machinery and agricultural equipment and boost demand for EEU products.

Minister for Industry and Agroindustrial Complex of the EEC Galina Martinkevich said that there are some foreign manufacturers that are interested in localization of their production in the countries of the EEU. For instance, with the VDMA (The German manufacturers of machinery) there was discussed a possibility of converging some technical regulations between the EEU and the EU standards, as well as promoting production of most popular components parts of foreign agricultural machinery in Member State of the EEU.
