Pitti Uomo 91 opens up in Florence

The 91st edition of Pitti Uomo is open from Jan. 10 to 13 showcasing 1.220 brands, with 214 new names and 540 international exhibitors
The 91st edition of Pitti Uomo men’s fashion show is opening on Tuesday with 1.220 brands showcasing their 2017 fall-winter collections.
The Fortezza da Basso in Florence, where the trade show is taking place, is fool, there are about 200 companies new to this edition and a significant presence of international exhibitors – 44% of the total, or 540 brands.
Over 36 thousand visitors are expected to attend the event, as well as about 25 thousand buyers, all of them in the premium market segment, including many from Germany, Japan and the USA, as well as China and Russia.
The show is full of huge range of events and special initiatives. There will be present Z Zegna label, one of the most important Made in Italy firms in the world, with the collection designed by Alessandro Sartori, the new creative director. The iconic American brand Tommy Hilfiger is also at Pitti Uomo for the first time presenting its Fall 2017 men’s collections in the Sala Ottagonale. As well as British designer Paul Smith is at Florence’s Fortezza venue, in the Sala della Colonne, in a quality of a special guest introducing his contemporary line, PS by Paul Smith.
Also present at Pitti Uomo 91 is the Golden Goose Deluxe Brand, and London menswear label Cottweiler, presenting a capsule collection in collaboration with Reebok.
Other events of the trade show include an exhibit dedicated to the founder of Neapolitan tailor Kiton, Ciro Paone, titled Due o tre cose che so di Ciro (Two or Three Things I know About Ciro).
The Latest Fashion Buzz will showcase at Pitti Uomo 91 the collections of a selection of ready-to-wear and accessory designers working on a new concept of modernity in menswear “Bold Meets Genderless”, a focus on fashion that goes beyond gender.
