Today in Kremlin, Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold talks with Qatar Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Kremlin press service reports.
The visit of Qatar Emir is important for the settlement of the Syrian crises, as Qatar is one of the key players in Syria and for several years has actively supported the anti-Syrian opposition.
For Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani it is the first visit to Russia. He arrived together with a large delegation that supposed to hold meeting with the Russian Ministry of Energy, reports Gazeta.ru. Qatar has one of the world’s largest gas reserves, however, by now, there were no joint projects in this field between the two countries.
The Kremlin said that during the meeting, priority attention will be paid to the issues of political settlement in Syria. “The sides plan to substantially exchange opinions on urgent issues of the international agenda, first of all the situation in the Middle East region and Northern Africa,” the press service said.
