Rosneft would like to expand its cooperation with Eni practically on the entire process chain, including exploration, production, refining and technology development, the CEO of the corporation Igor Sechin told in an interview with Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 ore.

According to him, there is a possibility of Eni’s future larger involvement in Russia’s large-scale extraction projects. “Our cooperation is based on a systematic work. The St. Petersburg economic forum will be a good occasion to sum up the results. It is also particularly important as the Italian Prime Minister is attending this international event,” said Mr Sechin.

Rosneft’s cooperation with Eni started in 2012, when the sides signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly explore fields in the Russian offshore reserves of the Barents and Black Seas and to exchange technology and know-how. The agreement also envisaged the participation of Rosneft in Eni international projects.

Taking only last year into account, Russian energy giant has supplied to the Italian sea ports almost 16 tons of oil and oil products worth $5,7 bln.
