The national football teams of Russia and Italy will hold a friendly football match in November 2017, President of Russian Football Union (RFU) Vitaly Mutko said on Wednesday.
“We have reached an agreement on one match and it will take place in November 2017. We are currently considering a possibility of playing this match in Italy,” Mr Mutko told journalists after the meeting with Italian Football Federation (FIGC) President Carlo Tavecchio.
On October 19, in Moscow, presidents of the two football federations signed an agreement on cooperation stipulating exchange of resources and experience, as well as Russia’s access to consulting services and facilities in Rome.
“We also spoke on another [friendly] match to be held here in Russia,” Mr Mutko said. “It’s very likely to take place on the eve of the [2018 FIFA] World Cup.”
