Russia’s federal communication watchdog Roskomnadzor has blocked Amazon Web Services on the territory of the Russian Federation. “Russian federal tax service decided to block it [Amazon Web Services] due to online poker room advertised on the relevant web page,” cites RNS the words of the Roskomnadzor’s spokesman Vadim Ampelonsky.

He refers to the link ads of the poker room ‘888poker’ which was blocked by the federal communication watchdog blocking the all page on the basis of the HTTPS protocol.

After the amendments done at the end of 2015 to the Federal Law N 244 ‘On state regulation of gambling games’, the Federal Tax Service (FTS) got powers to ask Roskomnadzor to bloc the web sites that it finds in bridge of the state regulation in this domain.
