A new ranking of international universities titled Three Missions of Universities was launched by chairman of the Russian Union of Rectors and Moscow State University Rector Viktor Sadovnichy. It is the first international university rankings based in Russia.
The rankings will assess university performance under 35 categories with three base indicators, naming ‘Quality of Education’, ‘Science’, and ‘University and Society’, which correspond to the three ‘classical missions’ of university that provide for education, research, and interaction between university and local communities, Mr Sadovnichy said during a press conference in the multi-media press center of MIA Rossiya Segodnya.
He also said that the rating will not consider indicators defined on the basis of reputational surveys.
