The Russian Helicopters holding has signed a contract on the delivery of Mi-171 civil helicopters to the Pakistani province of Baluchistan, reports the press service of the Russian company.
“The Russian Helicopters holding has secured a contract a contract with the government of the Balochistan province (the Republic of Pakistan) on the supply of a civilian Mi-171 helicopter. It is expected that [Russian Helicopters] will deliver the helicopter in the first half of 2017,” the statement reads.
This is the first contract between the Russian company and Pakistan on supply of civil products, Russian Helicopters said. Baluchistan authorities are expected to use Mi-171 helicopters for transport and cargo operations, as well as for medical missions, patrolling and emergency response.
The Russian Helicopters is part of the Rostec state corporation and the only helicopter developer and manufacturer in Russia. Created in 2007 as a subsidiary of Oboronprom United Industrial Corporation (part of Rostec), the holding company combined the assets of all Russian helicopter manufacturing plants, companies that manufacture component parts, and companies that provide after-sales helicopter equipment maintenance within and outside of the Russian Federation.
