Russian President Vladimir Putin is planning to visit Greece on May 27, reports RBC with reference to three officials familiar with the preparations. The official visit will last for two days.

The officials from Russia and Greece have been speaking on this visit since last spring. Back in March 12, Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Prikhodko said that the preparations for the visit has began, however the dates hasn’t been disclosed yet.

Putin’s journey to Greece will become his first visit in the EU countries since November 30, 2015, when he traveled to Paris to attend the UN climate change conference.

As for now, Putin is not planning to hold any other visit to the EU in this year, reports RBC with reference to two unknown sources close to the Foreign Ministry and the presidential administration. One of them also said to the agency that one of the European leaders will attend the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in June.
