In 2016, Russian imports from non-CIS countries increased by 0.8% amounting to USD162.87 billion, the Russian Federal Customs Service said on Thursday.
A year before, non-CIS imports totaled USD161.571 billion, according to the customs service.
“According to preliminary customs statistics, the import of goods from foreign countries amounted to USD162.865 billion in 2016 and has increased slightly over 2015,” the statement reads.
Imports in Dec. grew10.4% over Nov. totaling USD16.44 billion.
In 2016, imports of textile products and footwear increased by 27.9% to USD867.3 million, those of machinery products up 13.4% (USD8.5 billion), purchase of food and raw materials for their production up 10.6% (USD2.2 billion), chemical products grew 3.3% (USD2.9 billion).
