RZD to spend USD15.6 mln on PR

State-owned Russian Railways announces tender for selection of a contractor to provide international PR services
In early Feb., the Russian Railways is planning to select a contractor, which will provide the state corporation public relation services in the following three years. A maximum cost of the contract exceeds 932 million rubles (USD15.6 million).
The tender was announced by the Russian Railways at the end of 2016. A maximum value of the three-year contract is 932.58 million rubles including VAT, which is about 310 million rubles per year, reads the purchasing documents of the state company.
The RZD expects to choose a contractor at the beginning of Feb.
The contractor is expected to be in charge of RZD international PR-campaigns, including organization of press tours for reporters both in Russia and abroad, placing advertisements in foreign media, social network marketing, preparation and dissemination of press releases, organization of participation of the company’s representatives in various congresses and conferences etc.
The state company aims first of all to be more involved in international markets, reports Rbc citing the RZD’s spokesperson. “The company obtains all necessary expertise, resources, and experience to provide construction, consulting, and managing services abroad. It is now getting ready to enter Iran, India, Cuba, Brazil, Indonesia, Vietnam, Ecuador and other markets.”
