The official American position on Crimea is exacerbated. Volker’s request is aimed at sanctioning the European companies that are signing agreements with the Government of the peninsula and sanctioning the administrations that have relations with the Crimean administration. Volker’s statements appear unusual: the diplomat has in fact argued that the problems with the peninsula are “identical” to those of the Donbass and the only difference is “the lack of regular fighting”. He will therefore ask Washington to strengthen measures against Russia.

Meanwhile, the controversy exerted by the Ukrainian authorities in Italy against those who entertain trade relations with Crimea is exacerbated: the Crimean wines will not be present on the Russian Federation stand at the upcoming Vinitaly international fair and a company that has recently visited the Crimea for activities in the agricultural sector have been reported to the Ukrainian authorities who have condemned the businessman not to enter Ukraine and has included him in the blacklist. The regional councilor Stefano Valdegamberi gave the news.

The Crimea has returned to being a Russian region after the referendum of March 2014, where over 95% of the inhabitants of the peninsula voted for reunification with Russia.

Ukraine considers its territory to be Crimean, temporarily occupied.
