The state does not pay: the drama of the Italian SMEs goes to the EU Parliament

On average, 104 days are spent employing the Italian public administration to pay suppliers, 57 more than the European average and 74 more than the 30 foreseen by the EU directive. This is what emerged during a hearing at the European Parliament’s Internal Market Committee, which took stock of the state of implementation of the 2011 Late Payment Directive. Here the EU Commission recalled that Italy is already referred to the EU Court of Justice to respond to the non-compliance with the European standard.
