The Honorary Consulate of the Russian Federation has been opened at the Federico Fellini International airport of Rimini (Emilia-Romagna, Italy), reports Russian Federal Tourism Agency (Rossturizm).

The office will provide full assistance to Russian citizens in Rimini. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the consulate, the deputy head of the Federal Tourism Agency Roman Skoruy has emphasized that there are positive prospects for tourist exchange between Russia and Italy, in particular, what concerns Emilia-Romagna.

“Italy has always been a popular holiday destination for Russian tourists. I am sure that also Russia could become an interesting place for Italian tourists. Rosturizm hopes for close and comprehensive cooperation with the authorities and tour operators of the largest Italian region Emilia-Romagna. That will defiantly contribute in increase in tourist traffic between the two countries,» Mr Skoruy said.
