On April, 26, Palazzo Montecitorio, the seat of the Italian chamber of deputies in Rome, will host a conference devoted to the Ukrainian crisis “Ukraine on the crossroads between the West and Eurasia”.
The event will cover such issues as radical clash of different cultural models, world views and destinies. On the one hand, it is the Western secularized model based on the “religion of civil rights”, on the other, it is the orthodox model centered on the identity and construction of collective values.
We are at the brink of an era where religion become the driver of political and identity choices. The conference will reflect on possible solutions to the main crisis which is going through the whole Europe, via a dialogue between the West and Eurasia.
The conference will start with the participation of the vice president of the Chamber of Deputies Simone Baldelli, the Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Benedetto Della Vedova, the member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Deborah Bergamini, President of Italian Chamber of Deputies’ foreign affairs committee Fabrizio Cicchitto, and the director of the Ukrainian Institute of Global Development and adaptation strategies of Brussels Victor Levytsky.
The second part of the conference moderated by Angiolino Lonardi, the editorial director of Eurasiatx, will see participation of the director of the Ukrainian Institute of Global Development and adaptation strategies of Kiev Alexander Bilokobylsky, Benedetto Della Vedova, Victor S. Levytskyy, the President of the Italian Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (NPA) Andrea Manciulli, the director of the Center for American studies Paolo Messa, the president of Link Campus University Vincenzo Scotti, and Deborah Bergamini.
