The revenues of the Russian second largest retailer X5 Retail Group (Pyaterochka, Perekrestok and Karusel supermarkets chains) continue to grow with +26,2% in the first six months of 2016 overtaking the company’s rival Magnit by 11,7 percentage points, reads the company’s statements published on Tuesday.

From the beginning of 2016 the retailers’ sales reached 480.32 billion rubles. In the same period, the revenues of the Russian leading retailer Megnit rose by 14.49% to 519,46 billion rubles.

X5 revenues in the second quarter of 2016 increased by 25,7% compared with the same period of 2015 amounting to 249,72 billion rubles. The biggest growth has showed the company’s supermarket chain Pyaterochka which in April-June 2016 has increased its revenues by 30,6% to 189,44 billion rubles; while in six months the revenues grew by 31,4% (360,8 billion rubles). The revenues of the Perekrestok grew by 18,7% in the first six month of the year to 74,8 billion rubles; while the revenues of supermarket chain Krusel grew by 4,9% reaching 39,1 billion rubles.

X5 operates 7936 stores, including 7165 of Pyaterochka supermarkets, 493 of Perekrestok, 89 of Karusel supermarkets and 190 Express shops.
