The project is called “first settlement in agriculture” and is published today in the Official Gazette: the goal of facilitating access to land by young people who intend to become agricultural entrepreneurs. Young people between the ages of 18 and 41 who set up in agriculture for the first time will be able to benefit from soft loans to buy a farm. The benefits are linked to the presentation of a Business Development Plan that demonstrates the economic, financial and environmental sustainability of the intervention in relation to the development of the agricultural activity.

The financial envelope that ISMEA makes available for the 2018 call is € 70 million divided into 2 lots, € 35 million for initiatives located in the central and northern regions and € 35 million for initiatives in the south and in the islands.

In the last two years, 151 young people have become agricultural entrepreneurs thanks to ISMEA’s financial intervention. The total resources put in place by the Institute were about 116 million euro, which involved a total of about 6 thousand hectares and contributed to the creation of 450 jobs.
