During the 2018 World Cup football fans will be eligible to stay in Russia for over a month without visa. The relevant bill has been adopted by the Russian State Duma which states that fans with valid tickets for any match in the 2018 World Cup can enter the country without visa. The bill still needs to be approved by Russia’s Federal Council and be signed by President Vladimir Putin, which is expected to be just a bureaucratic formality.

According to the bill, the holders of valid tickets will be eligible to stay in the country for over a month – during the World Cup, as well as 10 days before and after the tournament.  To enter the country the fans will be asked to use a FAN ID, which will be issued by the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of Russia when tickets are purchased.
